Heather Barnhill: Comfortable in the Dark

Heather Barnhill started her pursuit of the arts in South Carolina working towards an Associates Degree in Fine Arts. Changing directions, and relocating to Missouri, she finished her Associate of Arts Degree in Graphic Design. She is currently working on her Bachelor of Arts, at the University of Central Missouri. Her art ranges from sculptures to graphics. It mostly consists of acrylic paintings. Detail is essential and prominent in her art. She hopes to get into mural work and animations one day.

“My goal with each piece is to give the viewer some sort of comfort in what seems to be a dark situation. My paintings are strange, but I want the viewer to see and explore somewhere they can’t capture in a photograph. Halloween was always my favorite holiday growing up. So when I work on Halloween related things they usually end up being my favorites. I feel like Skeletons are becoming a thing for me.”
